Pictures

Usually the heavier of the two riders sits in the front.  Larry will sit there and
the stoker, me, sits in back and as he said he can't see what I'm doing so I could be just doing NOTHING! The two sets of pedals turn independently. I really liked your idea about the stats, we'll think of some interesting ones to track. Anyone else have ideas on that?

Bike is ready to roll

Been awhile, haven't had much to say.  Have a little time now before work, and with the bike in the house, time to blog.  Went down to get the bike in a snowstorm last week, and on Thursday we put in together in the garage.  Actually went real well, the biggest problem was with the water containers behind the seats, took a genius to figure them out, and we didn't have one around.  Yesterday we took our new home for a spin in the neighborhood, and surprisingly, didn't crash. I'm still having problems starting out, but we have more or less figured out how to turn a corner.  Basically, Laura pedals, I turn, we both lean.  She can't see ahead, I can't tell what she's doing on the back.  Takes some getting used to.  The yellow box on the back is our entire household for 3 or 4 months, the ultimate in downsizing.  I measured it, and front to back it's a little over 9 feet long.  A big rig. Had plans to put pics of it on, but after 15 mins of being frustrated, can't them on here, so next time I'll put pics on.  Stay tuned.

Sunday snow

Another Sunday with snow, can't wait for better weather. My man, Tony Stewart, got wrecked in my favorite race today with only 10 laps left, I'm totally bummed. The trip is getting closer now, the bike should be here next week, I'll post a pic. Short entry today, I'm going to go cry.

Bike is just about here

I emailed Kelvin the bike guru and he told us that the bike is coming in this week and he will build it next week. Then we'll go get it. I'd like to ride it home but that would be about 60 miles through traffic, not a good idea when we can't even stay on it. Tim is after me about making the blog more entertaining, especially with pics. When we get in our first wreck I'll be sure to post the photo. I'll post an itinerary of the trip asap, and if anyone has any friends, relatives, or even enemies along our route, we need places to stay.

Baby steps

Well, per Tim's suggestion, I have been working on figuring out how to post pics and , while painfully slow initially, I am making progress.  this is Larry and his friend Helen on the deck. It was on that beautiful day he was talking about in the last blog.
Still have not heard anything about the bike but I know I ordered it because I called Kelvin to make sure!! It better arrive soon-we(I) really need to get out on it....
Hi AMS-we missed you guys! Thanks for the CD. You are the first DLO to visit. See you in Iowa.

Watching, waiting

The snow is flying again today, and 28 degrees, after yesterday sunny and 74, a new record for the date.  We both went out riding yesterday, the bike path was packed with rollerbladers, dogs, grandmas walking, wheelchairs, tricycles, kids weaving along on training wheels, all mixed in with the hard core tour de france wannabe.  Accident waiting for a place to happen.  Even with all that, a great day for riding and enjoying the outside.  Confluence park was packed, what a great place they've turned that into.  Kids were wading in the snowmelt they call Cherry Creek.  Burrr.   Still waiting for a call that the bike has come in,  so we're riding our singles.  There's no way we could ride on the bike path anyway with the crowds, it would be like having a Sherman tank out in the middle of the Daytona 500.  I did get the Iphone, and the mini laptop for posting the blogs on the road.  The phone is going to take some getting used to, I'm too old to figure it out.
